Popular women's fashion in the 1960s

The 1960s introduced the skinny jeans, capri pants, and baby doll dressto the world. The "youth quake" movement saw young people moving away from fashion norms and creating a whole new style. Mary jane strap shoes and flat sneakers were common footwear. The shift dress that was worn above the knbee was okay for runnin errands, but wasn't welcome in the office. Jumper dresses were worn to create a youthful look. Checkerboard, stripes and polka dots, colorblock, and Campbells soup cans were all placed on short shift dresses. Being over the top was never too much. In the late 1960s, the hippie culture started to gain momentum.

The late 60s brought a whole new range of styles for men. In 1969 seeing a man wear a scarf was commonplace. It was a silk scarf that was tied like a loose tie. The pea coat was quite popular for men in the mid-60s. Tight pants were popular as well.
