He finished second in the Cy Young Award voting, becoming the first pitcher to lead his league in ERA, WHIP (0.923), strikeouts and winning percentage (.833) and not win the Cy Young. Making this only one of his great achievements Pedro went on making history and earning himself a spot in the baseball hall of fame.

Jose Fernandez was a starting pitcher for the Miami marlins. On september 25 2016 jose and his friends where out in his speed Boat where they hit the rocks as everyone on the boat died. Jose was only 24. Fernández threw four pitches: a four seam fastball that averaged 94–97 miles per hour (151–156 km/h) and topped 100.2 miles per hour (161.3 km/h), a slurve at 80–86 miles per hour (129–138 km/h), a changeup at 87–88 miles per hour (140–142 km/h), and an occasional sinker at 93–94 miles per hour (150–151 km/h).
